Riders who wish to be more involved on the yard can join our Helpers Stamp Scheme (HSS).  Riders will be able to experience more ‘hands on’ care of the ponies and be more involved with the riding lessons helping younger riders including tacking up, leading and assisting on hacks.  Helpers will collate a number of hours of volunteered assistance and be awarded a stamp for every hour helping.  Once ten stamps have been earned, the completed Stamp Card may be exchanged for a free riding lesson or a special treat such as a trip in the horsebox to the woods!

Please note there is a minimum age of 10 years.

There are always opportunities to learn at SLS! Please also check out the Equestrian Care Awards which are set up and run by the ABRS+. This a log-book based progression test and so important for continued professional development for young riders.

Helpers are also encouraged to participate in the Young Equestrian Leaders Award (YELA) which is run through The Pony Club – for more information please see www.yela.org.uk.
