Riders who wish to be more involved on the yard can join our Helpers Stamp Scheme (HSS). Riders will be able to experience more ‘hands on’ care of the ponies and be more involved with the riding lessons helping younger riders including tacking up, leading and assisting on hacks. Helpers will collate a number of hours of volunteered assistance and be awarded a stamp for every day helping. Once ten stamps have been earned, the completed Stamp Card may be exchanged for a free riding lesson or a special treat such as a trip in the horsebox to the woods!
Please note there is a minimum age of 10 years.
There are always opportunities to learn at SLS! Please also check out the Equestrian Care Awards which are set up and run by the ABRS+. This a log-book based progression test and so important for continued professional development for young riders.
Helpers have regular planned training and our issued with our Helpers Passports which mean you have assurance that your child is assisted with care and experienced hands and we have assurance our ponies' welfare is maintained and monitored effectively.
